From Eurovision winner to Grammy nominees
Måneskin is an Italian rock band formed in Rome in 2016. The band is composed of vocalist Damiano David, bassist Victoria De Angelis, guitarist Thomas Raggi, and drummer Ethan Torchio. Performing in the streets in their early days, they rose to prominence after finishing second in the eleventh season of the Italian talent show X Factor in 2017. Their international breakthrough ensued when the foursome won the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 for Italy with the song "Zitti e buoni".
The band has released three studio albums, Il ballo della vita
(2018), Teatro d'ira: Vol. I (2021) and Rush! (2023). They
received their first Grammy nomination in the Best New Artist
category at the 2023 Grammy Awards.
As of 2022,
Måneskin has sold an estimated 40 million copies worldwide and
garnered 4 billion streams across all streaming platforms, as well
as 6 diamond, 133 platinum, and 34 gold certifications.

Global Citizen Festival
The Italian rock band, who won Eurovision Song Contest in 2021 with their song ‘Zitti E Buoni’, brought a suitably flamboyant show to Global Citizen Live in New York City. The band took to the Global Citizen stage just before headliners Metallica.

What I like about it?
The charity gigs, which aim to “unite the world to defend the planet and defeat poverty,” took place in numerous cities across the world during a 24-hour broadcast and livestream. The NYC Festival had the best lineup.
Saturday Night Live
The Italian rock quartet made its Saturday Night Live debut on Jan. 22, delivering standout performances of “Beggin'” and “I Wanna Be Your Slave.” Saturday’s episode was hosted by actor and former SNL cast member Will Forte.

What I like about it?
The 2021 Eurovision winners opened with an upbeat cover of The Four Seasons’ 1966 soul-pop hit “Beggin’,” from Måneskin’s 2017 debut EP, Chosen. The track later went viral on TikTok and hit streaming services as new fans discovered the band.
Eurovision Song Contest
The Grand Final of Eurovision Song Contest 2021 took place live from Rotterdam, where 26 countries competed for the trophy. After 3,5 hours of music, performances, entertainment and excitement, Måneskin from Italy was crowned as the winner with the song "Zitti e buoni".

What I like about it?
Italy was the bookmakers' favorite to win Eurovision 2021. Eurovisionworld's users also predicted Italy as winner in our Eurovision Poll. And to be honest, Måneskin was the best possible choice.
